Church WRAP Teams
Description:
WRAP Teams “wrap around” foster, adoptive, and kinship families to provide practical, hands-on support to help them foster longer and stronger . The type of support is defined in collaboration with the family, in response to their unique situation and needs, but can include a wide range of support .
WRAP Teams enable your church to support families through challenging seasons, like when they have received a new placement or when their home is enduring other changes and difficulties. WRAP Teams also provide ongoing support like prayer, encouragement and occasional child care. Teams usually consist of 3-5 people working together to support one foster, adoptive or kinship family.
Training:
OCA can provide informative training for your wrap teams. This training is about 90 minutes in length and is best done in person at your church.

Wrapping Families in Prayer
Missionaries in far away lands depend heavily on praying saints who hold the ropes for them as they serve. You can hold the ropes for those whose mission is fostering and adoption. Asking them about their needs and then praying regularly for them is of inestimable value for these families.
Provide a Much Needed Break
- Take care of the kids so mom and dad can have a date night.
- Take the Foster children for an activity so mom and dad can have some focused time with their biological children.
Meet Practical Needs
The practical needs of these families are no different than your needs, but often their lives are over scheduled with appointments and caregiving. You can provide relief by meeting one or more of these practical needs:
- Lawncare
- Laundry
- Simple household repairs
- Meals
- Transportation for School or Activities
