OCA Gateway: Thankful to Meet Needs for Foster, Relative and Adoptive Families Along with Those on the Verge of Crisis

What Does Hope Look Like?

Sometimes hope looks like a crib delivered to a family with a newborn. Sometimes it looks like a bus pass that helps a grandmother keep her job. Hope can even look like a pair of welding pants for a teenager learning a trade.

Recently, OCA Gateway volunteers carried hope into homes across Kentucky and southern Indiana. A single mom of three was able to put groceries on the table. Foster youth in residential care received pajamas, clothing, and shoes — simple things that told them they are seen and loved. One Gateway volunteer made sure an autistic child received a special car seat strap, allowing him to travel safely.

Visitation rooms were brightened with new play mats. Teens in nontraditional housing received food gift cards. Bills were paid. Sports fees were covered. Needs were met one by one, family by family, because the Body of Christ showed up.

Hope Comes from Community

Every gift is more than material help. It is a reminder that God sees, He cares, and He provides through His people.

This is the heart of OCA Gateway. It’s not just about meeting needs — it’s about creating a community that carries the hope of Christ into homes and hearts.
