As pastors in Kentucky and Indiana, we know that God has called you into a unique roll to serve and love those God has placed in your church and in your city. We’re extremely grateful for you, and that you’re called to serve the Lord in this way.
I’m writing today to specifically bring to your attention a group of kids in your community. There are 350 waiting children in Kentucky and 150 children waiting in the Indiana. These kids are boys and girls who are modern day orphans, trapped in the foster care system in Kentucky, without the support of family.
Here’s what else we know: there are over 6,500 churches in Kentucky and Indiana. With these kinds of numbers, it opens up an amazing opportunity for the Church to provide the solution for these waiting kids.
Focus on the Family, is hosting a lunch for Kentucky pastors on September 27 and a breakfast for Indiana pastors on September 28. Come hear our vision for how the church can be an advocate for the waiting kids in Kentucky.
We’ll talk about our upcoming adoption recruitment event, Wait No More: Finding Families for Kentucky’s Waiting Kids, that seeks to raise awareness of and recruit families for kids waiting in foster care. It’s more important than ever that Christian families become aware of the great need that exists among youngsters desperately longing for loving homes.
We encourage you to attend to learn more about joining with this effort to reduce the number of kids waiting for families. Seating is limited for both events, so register today or forward to your pastor.
