Connect Groups

The journey of adoption and fostering is not one that can be traveled alone. OCA Connect is an opportunity for foster and adoptive parents to journey together by meeting monthly for support and encouragement. Each meeting is led by a professional that guides the discussion and creates a safe community for sharing stories and offering encouragement.

Community Impact Scholarships

We are excited to provide scholarships that assist qualified individuals for the following services:

  • Equine facilitated services
  • Equine therapy
  • Counseling and mental health services
  • Other therapeutic services that may not be fully covered by insurance

Those that qualify to apply are:

  • Anyone affected by foster care, adoption, relative placement or fictive kin
  • Foster children
  • Foster/adoptive/kinship parents
  • Adopted children
  • The biological children residing in the home with foster and adoptive children
  • Those taken in as relative placement or fictive kin.

All families need help from time to time. We understand that parenting with no support system can be isolating and challenging. OCA’s Family Preservation Ministry supports families as they walk through difficult circumstances so they come out stronger.

Are you in foster care?

Being in foster care can be a difficult and lonely road. OCA Life Coaching is a relationship-based mentorship program between one young person at least 12 years of age with foster care experience, and one trusted, caring adult.

OCA Life Coaching is…

Caring - You are matched with a caring, supportive adult who you will have a one-on-one mentor relationship with.

Safe - Our Life Coaches are background checked, interviewed, and trained by OCA staff to ensure your safety.

Consistent - You’ll have weekly times for you to talk, ask questions, and spend time together. Your Coach commits to at least one year of Life Coaching with their matched mentee!

Educational - Life Coaching will help you learn life, social, and job skills to help you feel ready to navigate life out of foster care.

 Using a Christ-centered approach and evidence-based tools, our Family Coach meets one-on-one with caregivers weekly and customizes each 60-minute session to a family’s specific needs and goals.
