Meet Debby Traffas, OCA Family Outreach Caseworker.

Debby Traffas has joined the Orphan Care Alliance team as a Family Outreach Caseworker serving the Salt River Trail region. She brings deep compassion, resilience, and a genuine love for connecting with families. Shaped by both faith and experience, Debby has a God-given ability to recognize unspoken needs. That intuition is supported by years of ministry and trauma-informed training.
Debby’s work is rooted in a clear calling. “I began to pray when I learned about the job and quickly realized that this was something God wanted me to do,” she shares. Each day, she communicates with clients—face-to-face, by email, phone, or text. Debby also researches resources to help families thrive.
One of the most heartwarming moments for her came when a client told Debby through tears how comforting her voice had been, bringing a sense of peace. “Knowing that some of the people I encounter are so happy that someone cares for them is my favorite part of the job,” she says.
A former barrel and pole horse racer, Debby now spends her free time fishing and enjoying a chai latte.
What will she do when obstacles come?
Though new to the role, Debby faces each day with faith. “I have yet to face a large challenge, but I guarantee that God will show up,” she shares. She hopes more people understand that families in need often thrive with even the simplest support—and prays that clients can hear the message of God’s love through her work.
