Volunteers are the core of OCA. We can always use an extra set of hands around the office, and we can’t follow through with our ministries without Christian’s ready to connect with others. If you are passionate about orphan care and are looking for a way to give back through your time and talents, contact us about getting involved. We will schedule a time to chat about your interests and skills, and find where you can best plug in. Volunteers can serve in numerous areas from in-office help to ministry area volunteers, such as becoming a life coach.
Kids’ Care Closet Coordinator – build a local network in order to procure donation items for the OCA Kids’ Care Closet.
Kids’ Care Closet Sorter – physically sort and count recent donations made to the Kids’ Care Closet and maintain an inventory count.
Care Packs Facilitator – serve as a volunteer to assemble and organize our care packs with donations from the Kids’ Care Closet to disburse to children entering the foster care system.
Care Plan Manager – This role is vital to the success of the placement of a child/children with a Safe Harbor Family. They are also instrumental in the building of a healthy supportive relationship between the Parent/Guardian and the Care Coach that leads to the success in achieving the specific care plan goals.
Care Coach– provide a supportive relationship to families who are going through a difficult time and connects parents to resources in the community.
Care Family – Provides a safe and caring environment for children while their parent/guardian work through their season of crisis.
Intake Coordinator – Conduct initial assessments of families referred to Safe Harbor and determine appropriate course of action to be taken.
Life Coach – Walk alongside a young person ages 12 to 18 in order to prepare them for responsibility and sustainability once they age out of the foster care system.
Life Coaching Administrative Assistant – provide administrative support to the Life Coaching Director.
Life Coaching Advocate/Recruiter – use a wide array of personal and community connections to build and sustain good relationships in the community for the purpose of raising up volunteers and awareness of OCA’s Life Coaching program for foster youth in the Kentuckiana area.
In Office Roles
Administrative Assistant – provide administrative support to an OCA director in order to support the ministry’s administrative needs.
Advocate/Recruiter – use a wide array of personal and community connections to build and sustain good relationships in the community for the purpose of raising up volunteers for OCA ministries.
Prayer Team Member – cover OCA’s staff, volunteers, youth and families served in prayer.
Church Outreach Coordinator – responsible for coordinating all events related to the Advocacy team and Church Outreach Ministries. The Church Outreach Coordinator will also act as a liaison between all ministry leaders and the OCA staff regarding partnerships, promotions and events. The Outreach Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Advocacy Director.
Background Check Processor – serve as a volunteer physically processes and run background checks on potential volunteers.
OCA Volunteer Coordinator – connect Christians to opportunities to serve within the local ministries of Orphan Care Alliance. This position will manage volunteers and their relationship with those they come into contact with, including employees and partners of this organization.
Office Assistant – Under limited supervision, provides high levels of inter personal skills and computer ability, while maintaining a structured running of daily needs in the office for Orphan Care Alliance where the goal is to be a support to all Ministry Directors. Provides reception services and in-depth information by communicating with the public. Is skilled in the operation of Microsoft Office software, document production.
