link-to-summit-home-pageAs I have for the past three years, I took a journey to Southern California to Summit VIII. I think how the Summit has changed even in the years since I started attending. Even amongst changes and improvements, I can always count on Summit to be refreshing and well worth the journey.

First, I want to let you know that the Summit IX location is already established. Next year it is close by in Nashville, TN on May 2 – 3, 2013. If you have any thought about orphan care pulling at your heart, then I would strongly urge you to attend.

Why attend?

To learn, to experience what God is doing in orphan care, and for fellowship with like-minded Christians who share your call in caring for the Fatherless.

Over the years as orphan care ministry grows among the Christian Church, various organizations are growing and learning. And while there are several opportunities for new ministries to learn, the ministries with more experience are sharpening their vision and working to tackle larger and more difficult issues. There is always opportunity to learn.

God is assembling an amazing effort, but you may not feel it as you serve day to day in the mission field before you. However, going to Summit allows you to witness an awesome sight and experience a new energy to continue this mission of caring for the fatherless. There is joy in what is being accomplished as well as challenges to tackle ahead. And we all want to accomplish the task for His excellence and glory.

Finally, Summit is a reunion of those who labor beside you around this world to care for God’s children. Relationships are built. We help each other, care for each other, and celebrate with each other.

Please consider putting this wonderful event in your plan for 2013. You won’t be sorry you did!
