Simplify the way you give back this holiday season

This holiday season, as you begin making your list and checking it twice for your family members who have been naughty and the ones who have been nice – remember Orphan Care Alliance and the children in our community who benefit from our local ministries.

Whether you connect with foster youth ministries through Life Coaching, prevent foster care placements through Safe Families for Children or long for the support groups and conferences through Family Support, there is a ministry for everyone to plug into local orphan care here at OCA.

This year, we aim to make it easy for you to contribute financially to these ministries with your end of the year donations by partnering with #GivingTuesday and www.iGive.com.

0f929abb-69fd-4b5b-b114-dafda90b8fbaOrphan Care Alliance has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving holiday and the kick off of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world. Taking place December 3, 2013– the Tuesday after Thanksgiving–#GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national movement around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.

“‘The resources of heaven are ready and waiting for the people of God who desire to make much of him in this world.’ I am reminded of OCA when I read these words from Platt’s book ‘Radical’.  OCA is ministry and a resource with a heart for the gospel and for the fatherless, of which I am honored to support.” – Dr. Scott Eberle – Eberle Orthodontics

According to internetretailer.com , a study by Accenture that polled over 500 shoppers in September, reported over 65% of shoppers will order their gifts online and have them shipped to loved ones this year. Since this is the case, OCA has also teamed up with www.iGive.com – shop from thousands of stores and through the website you can shop & compare, get deals & coupons! Some purchases give back as much as 20 percent to Orphan Care Alliance. This is a tangible and easy way for everyone to give back to your favorite nonprofit in Louisville! Traveling this season? Shop on iGive and a percentage will be given to OCA then, as well!

Even on a tight budget, you can give back this season! Looking for other opportunities to get involved with Orphan Care Alliance this season?
