Proverbs 31 Grandmother: Urgent Need

She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family…

Proverbs 31

When the Proverbs 31 grandmother works alone to raise two grandchildren, where is the Church, when she needs help?

Arise, Oh Church, and help provide money for a grandmother caring for her 2 young grandchildren. After caring for her medically fragile granddaughter, she lost her job and she is now facing eviction. Eviction she can deal with, losing her grandchildren due to eviction calls the Church to action.

Short-term financial assistance is needed from the Body of Christ. This is not only a tangible way for you to care for families in crisis, but by donating to this family, you are able to keep this family from being split up.

“I do not believe this to be in the best interest of the children as when I met with them yesterday it was evident that the children were very happy and are being given excellent care,” said the Regional Relative Care Specialist assigned to this case.

So long term, with your contributions, this family would be able to meet her financial commitments and would not need any state or federal financial assistance. Right now, she is in danger of losing her housing as her rent is due this week (she pays on a weekly basis) and she does not have funds to pay this week’s rent.

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27

Will you step in the gap and partner with OCA to keep this family together? The total needed to keep bills paid for the next month is $480.00.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

If there is anything that you can do to help, follow this link to donate any amount and write “Proverbs 31 Grandmother” in the Comments bar.

By reaching the $480 goal, for the next month this family will be able to:

  • Pay a month’s worth of rent
  • Provide childcare assistance for this grandmother to look for another job
  • Most importantly, this will keep these children in the loving arms of their grandmother and will prevent foster care placement.
