Prayer for the Wednesday’s Children

Week 2: Praying for children entering the foster care system.

Lord, may you protect each child who enters the foster care system today. Lead more Christian families to follow your call on their lives, to care for fatherless children who need the stability that the Gospel offers. Awaken your congregation and light a fire in their souls. May those in the Church care for the fatherless by taking the first step by becoming trained foster parents.

Right now, more than 300 Kentucky children are living in foster homes, group homes, and residential centers, waiting for adoptive families. They're not the babies many of us think of when we think of adoption.
