OCAConnectGroupsHi OCA Connect Friends,

We hope you have had a great summer and are getting ready for the routine that school can bring.  Our meeting last Tuesday was great, and we learned a lot about the difference between a 504 plan, an RTI and an IEP.  We discussed partnering with our child’s teacher, counselor, and pediatrician to recommend and provide services if they are needed.  Special thanks to Tammy Redecker for the presentation!

Please mark your calendar for September 6, to join us, as Renee Witkowski from Bethany Christian Services shares “Practical Ways to Establish a Deeper Connection With Your Child or Adolescent.”  She will leave more time for group discussion and questions, and I believe this will be a great topic that every parent can use.

We’d really like to expand our group to serve more families so please feel free to share this information with anyone you think could benefit from attending.

General reminders:

  • Please make a reservation for free childcare if that is needed by emailing jbaumer@secc.org by the Friday before each meeting.
  • Location is the Crestwood Campus of SECC, 6201 Crestwood Station, Crestwood, KY  40014 in room 261 (upstairs above and behind the café)
  • Time is 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
  • The meeting is held the first Tuesday of each month.

Thanks and have a great day!

Lynn and Marty Willing
