It has been an incredible year for OCA in many, many ways. Advocacy is one of the long-standing activities of OCA. Originally, we started out holding one or two Adoption Seminars each year at Southeast Christian Church. Over the past few years we have transformed to four orphan care seminars at four different churches each year.
As OCA has grown in our mission to care for orphans, the seminars have offered a broader spectrum of information beyond preparing for adoption to post adoption support and orphan care in our region.
In a nutshell, OCA seminars aren’t just for Christians considering adoption but for anyone who desires to gain information about orphan care. If you have never attended one, we encourage you to attend our next seminar at Highview Baptist Church, Fegenbush campus on November 3rd. They’re FREE and we would appreciate your attendance and support so that you may be informed and continue to advocate for the fatherless. Consider spending an hour or all morning.
I believe that you will have the opportunity to see God working at OCA seminars. At the time when state governments are struggling the most to care for children in their care, God is stirring the Church to stand up and witness to their communities in caring for children. OCA is strengthening relationships with our state governments and desire to walk with them.
