The statistics are staggering for what happens to youth when they age out without a permanent family and community. We are at the end of the spectrum here to provide help and hope to these kids as they transition out. Our goal is to be an agent of common grace for these kids. And because we are doing that, the state has approached us to be a part of a program that they have initiated to help provide safety and stability to the kids as they age out.
Governor Bevin has helped create a program called Fostering Success to get youth who have aged out (ages 18-21) some job, and life experience. OCA’s part in Fostering Success, will be to provide life coaches for the youth. The youth will be working for the state and OCA Life Coaches will help them with some basic life skills while, at the same time, being an example of the Gospel and sharing the hope that we have.
It’s an amazing opportunity for the state government and the church to work together for the greater good of youth in our community. It’s a great time to get on board as a Life Coach. OCA will educate you to do that and then walk with you as you do it.
The next training will take place June 20th and 27th from 6:30pm to 9:00pm @ Southeast Christian Church Blankenbaker Campus ATCR 200. Register below to participate in this two part training.
