What is required of me if I run on Team OCA for a KDF race?

Once you register to run a KDF race and choose OCA as the charity you would like to fundraise for, we ask that each runner raise as least $400.

How do I log offline donations?

The fundraising packet provides important information and a donation log for you to use. This log will be helpful to you, particularly if people give you cash donations and would like to receive credit for tax purposes.

It is important for you to log all cash and check donations to ensure that each donor receives end of the year tax receipts. You may use the log provided, or email in the donation totals, first/last name, mailing address.

How will people donate specifically to me?

The online donation form has a dropdown box for your donor to select your name. You may use the form link to share on social media or send out an email blast to your potential donors.

By sending a photo and short bio of yourself to OCA, your information will be highlighted on the Find a Runner page. This is a great way to give donors a little background information about yourself, encouraging them to give to you.

What are some incentives for running on Team OCA?

Each runner will receive a team Dri-Fit shirt, provided by Fleet Feet.

January – February : For every runner you recruit to fundraise for Team OCA, you will receive a $20 visa gift card

March – April : Every fundraiser who raises $400 within each month will receive a $100 visa gift card.

Are donations to Team OCA tax deductible?

Orphan Care Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Donations made to OCA are tax deductible and tax contribution statements are issued to each individual donor during January each year, unless otherwise requested.

If fundraising and collecting donations for OCA- it is imperative to collect the Donors Name, Donation Amount, and Address so we are able to provide them with their contribution statement at year end. This process insures they are able to claim the donation on their taxes for the respective calendar year.

Thursday, April 28th, 2016
4 pm – 8 pm: Kentucky Derby Festival Race Expo and Packet Pick-Up (Photo I.D. Required), Technical Shirt Distribution, Goodie Bag Distribution, Late Registration (if available), and Numerous Exhibitors at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

Friday, April 29th, 2016
11 am – 9 pmKentucky Derby Festival Race Expo And Packet Pick-Up continues at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
5 pm – 9 pmRunning Wild Pasta Party at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

Saturday, April 30th, 2016
6 am: Gear check drop off begins at Louisville Slugger Field (corner of Floyd St. & Main St.)
7:25 am: Wheelchair division start time (corner of Brook St. & Main St.)
7:30 am: Marathon and miniMarathon start time (corner of Brook St. & Main St.)
1:30 pm: Course closes (6 hour time limit).

Following race completion, the Post Race Party and Runners’ Reunite area will take place at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville, located at Waterfront Park.
