Monday, July 8 – Local company, Green Bean Delivery delivered 300 pounds of produce, which included plums, bananas, yams, and oranges, to the Orphan Care Alliance office.

Allison Taylor, local Dishcrawl ambassador, contacted GBD during an event called, Neighborfood.

Neighborfood took place June 29th at 8 local restaurants in the St. Matthews area. GBD partnered with OCA to provide one pound of food per ticket sold. With 277 tickets being sold during the event, GBD upped their donation rounding off to 300 pounds.

The donated food will be donated to families in the Kinship program in Kentucky. “The Kinship Care Program  facilitates permanency for children who have been or may be removed from their home.  Kinship Care is an alternative to foster care placement and is provided to children who may otherwise be placed by the Cabinet in foster care.”
