For the past several years OCA has been on a journey to serve vulnerable families and care for the fatherless with the love of Christ. We’ve also been committed to caring for parents who have chosen to open their homes to foster care and adoption.

You are reading this because, at some point, your life has intersected with the ministry of OCA.
The journey so far has been meaningful in God’s economy. But there are two critical questions looming in my mind.
Can OCA respond to those needing its ministries in Kentucky and southern Indiana in 2018?
Is OCA ready and sustainable for the road ahead?
We can partially meet the requests coming into OCA in 2018, but we are not positioned well for the next generation to continue OCA’s growth.
After leading OCA for the past 9 years as a volunteer while working full time, I can’t say I am fond of my answers. So, after much prayer with my wife and much discussion with OCA’s Board, I am electing to go part time at my current job in order to give more time to OCA in 2018. My hope is to be fully committed to OCA in 2019. We need to be in a position to serve more families and children in 2018, and we need to prepare OCA for a legacy of providing orphan care ministries and support to Kentucky and southern Indiana.
OCA is continuing to expand in Lexington, southern Indiana, and Bowling Green. We have part time employees and a volunteer leader to begin work in these regions. We continue to hear about the deep needs from these communities and from the state administration. We also get agreement from many of you and several churches that the Church needs to “step into orphan care”.
Our vision has always been to see the Body of Christ lead the efforts of caring for the fatherless in Kentucky and southern Indiana. There are many ways for you to step in. All that OCA does is funded on $300,000/year and 150 volunteers. With your support either financially or as volunteers, we could do so much more. So many more communities could be reached, so many more families could be held together, and so many more children could be loved and served.
Please join us with a meaningful offering of your time, talent, or treasure. God tells us to care for the fatherless, and OCA invites you to get involved and be part of changing life’s trajectory for these families and children.
