Thank you for your interest in the OCA Connect Group which meets at the Oldham SECC Campus on the first Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting is coming up next week, and if you need to take advantage of the free childcare, please email Angie Martin at email@example.com at your earliest possible convenience. We really are supposed to have the reservations to her the Friday before our meeting, but I am rather late on sending this reminder message, and I apologize for that. We are still settling in to our new routine with a 2nd grader and 2 year old added in, but I will promise to do better next month.
At this meeting, we will have a presentation from Kelli Hood with ideas about self-care, and then we will have plenty of time to connect and discuss other things that we might want to talk about. Thank you Kelli for offer to share your ideas and help us take care of ourselves so we can take care of others!
Thank you Lynn for passing on this bit from the book “Breaking Busy… How to Find Peace and Purpose in a World of Crazy” and a link to the article: CLICK HERE
Taking care of yourself may seem selfish, but self-care is one of the most other-centered choices you can make in your life.
That’s because you can’t live the life God created you for, with space to be aware of His leading, if you don’t take care of yourself.
Also from Lynn for all the “moms”:
The Lord has been giving me a desire to connect with other foster and adoptive moms like YOU. Away from spouses and children – just us women. I am thinking of gathering with other foster/adoptive moms in my home in Crestwood on Sunday evenings (or maybe every other Sunday evening?) for fellowship, scripture and prayer. Would you be interested in this? Please let me know!

I can’t wait to see all of you on Tuesday!
